One of the quiet costs of following Jesus is realizing that you can’t faithfully follow Him and meet everyone’s expectations at the same time.
At some point, you’ll have to choose.
Integrity over popularity. Obedience over comfort. It’s not that you’re trying to be different but you’re following Someone who is leading you somewhere different.
The goal of the Christian life isn’t to become more accepted by the world. It’s to become more like Christ.
And the closer you walk with Him, the more your direction changes.
If some people don’t understand, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going the wrong way. Sometimes it’s just evidence that you’re no longer following the crowd… you’re following Christ.
