Years ago, when my kids were little, my mother-in-law gave me a piece of advice I’ve never forgotten: open your Bible during your quiet time in the morning and then just leave it open. Put it somewhere you already walk past often—the kitchen counter works well…and each time you pass by, read a verse, or the same verse again.
Don’t make it complicated…something starts to happen if you let it: God’s Word begins to dwell with you and in you throughout the day. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.”
This isn’t about checking off a box. It’s about letting God’s Word take up space in your real life. When Scripture dwells in us richly, it gently calls us back and meets us right where we are.
Whether your house is full of kids and movement or just a little more still, passing by that open Bible becomes an invitation to notice God’s presence and respond with your attention.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” — Colossians 3:16
